Certified health coaches with a passion for wellness

Emily Martinez

Hello! I’m Emily. My health and wellness journey has been about feeling better from the inside out. I have never been overweight, but I was never truly healthy. When I was little, a healthy diet was not a priority in our house. I hardly ate a meal made from scratch. We would eat mostly boxed or frozen meals, or we’d pick something up from a fast food restaurant. This created poor eating habits in my adult life, which lead to noticeable health issues. I struggled with frequent migraines, and irritable bowel syndrome. I would change my diet a little bit here and there, but never noticed much improvement. I often thought I was making healthier choices by buying products that were labeled as “healthy” food. The real transformation came when I started to understand where my food came from, and how to cook homemade meals. I started making small changes, like staying consistent with an exercise plan and having healthy eating habits. Little by little, my health started to improve. I stopped depending on prescription medicine for my migraines, and my gut started to heal itself. Now, I want to help others regain and maintain a happy and healthy lifestyle!

I am an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. At IIN, I studied food and diet, but also studied why and how other lifestyle factors directly impact our daily lives (stress, sleep, physical activity, spirituality, relationships, etc.). I was taught the concept of bio-individuality, which means everyone is unique and that one plan or program will not work the same for everybody.

I worked in the healthcare setting for 5 years. I realized the traditional style of “healthcare” we are used to - get sick, see a doctor, take a pill - is not ideal for individuals to live long, happy lives. As a holistic health coach, I have a non-traditional approach to health and wellness. We will look at all areas of your life that are connected, in order to discover the root cause of your imbalance. My goal is to help you take control of your health in simple and attainable ways. I am available as an online health coach, or we can meet in person.
April and I met while working together at a hospital. We both have a passion for helping others live healthier lives. We both believe our current healthcare system needs to revamp its priorities. We know each person has the capability of living better lives, and have it within themselves to change their lifestyles. Together, we’ll create better health through better living! Meet my partner, April...

April Garland

Hi, I'm April, an ACE-certified health coach, ISSA certified personal trainer, and avid climber. I live in Superior, Colorado with my family, and have access to some of the world’s most beautiful natural surroundings. Being so close to the mountains, we never have a shortage of places to run, bike, hike, canoe, ski, etc. Being imbued in this active culture of outdoor adventures has inspired me to help others reach their own personal health and fitness goals.

My journey hasn’t been an easy one. Growing up with bronchiectasis, a form of chronic lung disease, I haven’t always been able to be so active. There were times when I couldn’t physically walk or run for more than five minutes at a time. But, with changes to my nutrition and exercise, I have been able to prevent the progression of my disease and this year I will compete in my first ultra marathon!

This is a huge accomplishment for me, and it has really motivated me to help other people feel as good as this makes me feel. As a personal trainer, online health coach and in-person health and wellness coach, I hope to help others to use nutrition and exercise to live better, healthier lives.

I have 16 years of experience in the medical profession, and I am very excited to enter into this new realm of healthcare.

I met my partner Emily working in the hospital setting. We both believed that something needed to be done to fix our current healthcare system. We had the same desire to help people live healthier lives, before they got sick. One day, while working together, we decided that we would start a business together.
